Hey guys, so I am working on another GPU Mining rig. I have been ordering parts over the past couple weeks. Still working to hunt down GPUs at a decent price. I managed to snag a XFX R9 380X 8GB card for $275. Which is still little more than I wanted to pay but the going rate at this point in time. So that looks like my next rig model I am going to go with. Now its on with the hunt for more R9s!
So yeah last night I finished up putting together a good old rig frame with left over wood pieces I found in the garage.
So after about 25 minutes of cutting and screwing heres what we got! SUPER SIMPLE!
Now for the measurements. You can essentially use any wood or aluminum that will work for you. Since I had spare 1" furring strips and some 3/4" plywood I decided to go with that.
Heres what you will need. (One thing I did notice was the measurement for the GPU rack itself for my other Sapphire Nitro RX480 rig was alittle further down than what I needed with these new XFX R9 380s. By about 1/4". So I need to adjust the rack holder up a tiny bit.)
Material Measurements:
22.5" x5 pieces
14" x4 pieces
12" x4 pieces
and depending the pieces you use for the bottom of the rig (for this one I had 3"wide by 1/2" plywood.) I used 4x pieces as you can see in the picture.
Last part is the GPU rack holder itself. I used a 4"x 1/2" piece of plywood. (Positioned 3.5" from front of rig and 4.5" from top of RIG.
And so a new journey begins! Well as soon as my damn power supply gets here!
Building a mining rig frame is so simple. If you have any questions what so ever do not hesitate to ask. Like I mentioned before you can choose to build a metal frame like I did on my other rig or you can choose to build it in wood. Or really whatever you can find laying around the house. I have seen some pretty creative rig frames. But this is by far the easiest.
Heres a look at my last rig.
Gotta love GPU Mining!
Neeeeeeeeerrrrd!!!!
