This entry is a response to the question, "Is there any hope that policy makers will learn from history and work to change America's path?" posed by @stonemasoner.
I believe first and foremost, The Bigger Bubble documentary serves as a great resource of hope by the way it spreads awareness and may ideally reach America's policy makers who can spark the necessary change. Even if the documentary does not make its way to the intended audience, general awareness of our economy's mistakes from the 2008 crisis should already be evident and impactful in decision making for the future. Unfortunately, as The Bigger Bubble revealed, our country does not appear to be learning from past mistakes or changing our habits to prevent a crisis from occurring again. I believe the greatest hope in preventing further crisis and failure is by speaking up about the similar observations we see in the economy now as it was leading up to the 2008 crisis. I would almost argue it was more acceptable for citizens to stay quiet over economic concerns prior to the 2008 financial crisis, as it appeared more speculation than evidence was involved since we had less of a history of such a crisis occurring. Now, as we watch our policy makers stray towards the same, unsuccessful path, we all have every right and obligation to voice these concerns in order to avoid another economical crisis heading our way. Every voice has potential to make an impact and no one is incapable of raising awareness over the issues we see today. An overwhelming response concerning the alarming decisions made today, along with reasonable alternatives, may be exactly what our economy needs in order to transition toward the right path in preventing another bubble from bursting.
