Carmen was born early in the 1900's; as any woman of Latin America from the beginning of the century, her life was guided by the men of her life.
When she was ten years old, her duties were to cook, clean and wash with her mother. Her father and brothers were not expected to cooperate in any domestic activity. She did what she had to do, but she couldn't help to feel less than her four brothers that had a lot more liberty than her.
As Carmen grew up, her sharp mind started to develop. She realized that men started to notice her in another way, they wanted her. More important than that, she realized that she could manipulate them, she could make them do what she wanted, the opposite from what she experienced during her short life.
After some experimentation, she decided to marry a boy that apart from attractive, was an idealist. He believed that men and women should have the same opportunities in life, he pushed her to do what she loved to do no matter what the rest of the world though.
Sadly for her, this attractive man that was like handmade for her, left the world very young after a car accident. He left her with five children to raise... porn was not yet invented. Carmen forgot about her wishes and dreams and devoted her life care for her children.
It was until very late in her life that she found another man that showed her to worry about her and about what she wants, her grandchild Pepe.
They started to paint in her house when he visited her, as he grew up they started to do some graffitis; some would say art pieces, in the streets of Mexico City.
The smell of paint, the streets and the feeling of freedom, from doing something that she never expected to do made her enjoy her life, probably more than ever before.
