The Gratitude Challenge: New Purpose

Steem got me re-imagining Guilty Parties (guiltyparties.com) after fifteen years of doing the same sort of thing. Doing garage bands, news, random content, sports, message boards, it all gets old and stale. It's dated and done with and no one really gives a shit if you had 30k members when the world moved on. Moving the brand to Steem was a gamble but it paid off big in terms of getting it updated. Met @derangedvisions who redid our old logo that looked like a dog's breakfast and made it kickass. Steem gave the good old Guilty Parties a purpose and because of it we recently marked our 17th anniversary since inception.

From this:

To this:

When you understand how the transactions get recorded and their permanence, you start realizing the immense potential that the Steem blockchain has as a content storage system. Guilty Parties wasn't moved here to make money from the reward pool for its content. In fact, virtually none of its giant cache of content was reposted to the blockchain. Instead, the few pieces of content that had use past nostalgia were rewritten to add value to the Steem ecosystem where they remain. The posts that followed were all new. They didn't make money. It was never about the money. I'm not a blogger and I don't blog but I do write content that I will ultimately pull into Guilty Parties. That's how it started.

Now my goal is for Guilty Parties the 17 year old site to become a key node in the Steem ecosystem. It presently has a whole range of subsidiary and parallel ventures which can be found listed on the site itself. They're all blockchain-based. That's a big step from keeping a dying tech on life support.

Thanks to @theycallmedan for nominating me for this challenge. I pass on the nomination to @ats-david, @sgt-dan and @jackmiller.

Many thanks, will get there hopefully.

Hell ya homie. Your website is an adult now.

I am glad that I could help out with designing a logo for you that you liked.

That logo you made is still the sickest thing I've ever laid eyes on.

That logo you made
Is still the sickest thing I've
Ever laid eyes on.
