Capcom is summoning again as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles finally found its way west. This time the saga takes us far back in time. Straight to places and neighborhoods the series has not yet explored. As the ancestor of Phoenix Wright, we will take part in no less complicated secrets and solve crimes that can shake the entire justice system. Feel free to review.
I will not hide from you that when it comes to video games, the Ace Attorney series is one of my favorites. The deadly charismatic series about the adventures of an iconic lawyer has provided me with the highest quality entertainment for years. Crazy dramatic court hearings were able to truly amuse me to tears, sincerely moved, and even effectively raise the level of adrenaline in my blood - more than many games filled with fast-paced action! Now I am happy to announce that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles continues this trend, adding new, fantastic moments to the pool of memories.
The reviewed The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a set consisting of two games originally debuting on Nintendo 3DS consoles. Unfortunately, so far they have not been officially available in English. The adventures, detached from the main series, tell the story of Ryunosuke Naruhodo - a young student and ancestor of Phoenix Wright, who, like his descendant, has an innate gift for a legal job. The distinguishing feature is the transfer of the action to the Meiji period (around 1900), which opened a number of interesting opportunities and translated into an unprecedented atmosphere. A climate that can charm and itself is a source of interesting thematic issues, exhibited by the fictionalized part of the game - I mean, for example, the issue of racism, as one of the common elements of everyday life of those times.
It should also be added that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is the most stylized version, soaked to the bone with the atmosphere of the Victorian era. This was taken into account when writing more formal lines of dialogues, although again care was taken to keep the balance and the whole thing was light enough - the conversations are fluid, not tiring even during longer sessions with the game. The composer himself found himself beautifully, creating more ethnic instrumental arrangements. The soundtrack has always been a strong point of the brand and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles also leads the way here, providing many melodic pieces that build the context of specific scenes and events. You can't get the music out of your head, and I hummed a lot of songs long after I left the console. Again, this is one of my favorite albums for the entire series. The atmosphere, atmosphere and music are the great advantages of the story.
The combination of it all makes the action want to naturally push forward. It takes about 30 hours of play to finish one installment, and during that time I did not encounter any moments of weariness or downtime. I find it extremely admirable that this is actually a tenth of the brand, and I still catch most of the authors' tricks, even those that evoke specific emotional states. However, this does not change the fact that the gameplay is imitative and will not convince people who are tired of the formula or who bounced off their predecessors. Despite this, I cannot imagine that the fans would overlook the reviewed compilation. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has everything you love the series for - lots of humor, engaging secrets, colorful characters that arouse sympathy and an engaging scenario that ties everything together into an almost perfect whole. If the meeting with this world is still ahead of you and you are not scared by the huge amount of text - I highly recommend that you give it a chance. I believe that many will discover something in this title that will captivate you as much as me.
