Today,i would like to share my thoughts and opinions on the question above.Well, for this post,i would like to discuss about the reasons why investors are getting more and more impatient and the consequences that our impatience may bring.
As seen from the market trends, the whole cryptomarket have seen exponential rise over that past 2 years.Take Bitcoin for example,it has recently overcome the $5000 hurdle and is still expected to rise.Besides Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies such as ETH have seen an 3200% rise just in this year only. Some smaller coins such as Stratis have rose from an ico price of 0.02 to about $3.00 (A 150x!) in only a year.Such exponential rises and rockets in prices is never seen in any other markets out there. The cryptomarket is hence now widely recognised as a platform to get rich quickly. As such,it is inevitable that investors are becoming overly obsessed with earning money in a short period of time, because this is the expected norm now.
GREED is the word.
Nowadays many people expect to buy a coin during the ICO phase and hope to see it "go to the moon" when it hits the exchanges.People are now more greedy than before.Investors are now expecting their investments to increase by tenfolds or above instead of the rational 30%-70% increase.
So,what are the consequences?Well, allow me to share 2 consequences that greed may bring.
Firstly, such greed will cause us to lose out big time in the cryptomarket. As stated above, many investors are now looking to investing in coins during the ICO phase and hope to increase your investment by multiple folds in short periods of time.No doubt,if you invest in the right ICO,there will definitely be rewarding returns. But,we have to understand that there is now a rise in the number of scam coins. These coins aim to scam investors by tempting them to participate in the ICO phase. So as we have discussed earlier, more and more investors are looking for SHORT-TERM returns. This may cause investors to lose their state of clarity of mind and start to believe in everything that sounds too good to be true. They hence invest their money into whatever they feel is worthy and may rocket in the near future.Without prior investigations and analysis, and based on pure luck, these investors have a high risk of losing their investment capital to these scam coins. As such, when crypto investors are greedy, they may be subjected to losing their investments in the most unwise manner!
Secondly, the greed of investors may cause good and prospective ICO projects to fail. Now many of you must be baffled about this point.Allow me to explain my point of view.I would say that many ICO projects have amazing ideas and great plans.Initially, they received strong social support and a substantial number of investors during the ICO phase. After the ICO phase, there will mostly be a period of time before the tokens or coins are launched on exchanges.Depending on the team and leadership of the project, the period of time may vary. For certain projects, because of the long waiting period before the coins are launched on the exchanges or the markets, the investors will start deeming the coin as a "scamcoin" and blacklist it.Some people may even bring the matter to social media and eventually, the reputation of the coin is negatively affected. As such, even if the coin is launched,it will not receive good support on the actual market. This will then lead to the hinderence of the development of the project, and hence, a good project may be lost. This all boils down to the greed of investors as they are unwilling to support this project due to their impatience because they are expecting HUGE RETURNS in SHORT period of time.
To sum up,i feel that greed can be both positive and negative. With greed,we will have the drive to earn more money through whatever methods. With greed,we are able to push ourselves to the limit to achieve our goal. However, with greed,we may lose out big time when we make irrational investment decisions.
Personally,i feel that we have to have that slight greed within us to keep us motivated and optimistic. But we have to be sure to carry out each and every process rationally and with substantial research.
Above are my opinions on the increasing impatience and greed of most crypto investors.Do comment in the section below to share with me your views on this topic.Do also suggest the topics that i should talk about in my future posts:)
Some investors have never struck it rich with crypto - and they are in the majority because crypto is a minority niche market. Instant success is too good to be true for all projects, even though some have found such success. Sound projects won't fail. They will have developed their product and built their markets before issuing their ICO. Anything less is dodgy and deserves to fail. I upvoted your post.
Thank you for your insights,i have followed you,i do look foward to more discussions with members like you :)
Thank you, nice thoughts :) I'm pretty opinionated, LOL
