Hello All,
It has been a while since I have posted as it has been a very busy few months. Over the same time frame, it has been a very interesting time for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, including my favourite: Gridcoin.
When I first got into Gridcoin, I made a rather small investment in order to solo mine and stake on a regular basis. Over the past year and a bit, this initial investment has grown by over 1,500% (net of fees). Yes, I got all the zeros in there correctly! I decided to take a portion of my GRC and crystallize these gains. While converting GRC to Canadian dollars was a bit of a challenge and somewhat costly, I received a nice little sum in my bank account the other day.
My current "fleet" of miners includes a server (sporting a Xeon E3-1220), a laptop (running a i7-4910MQ), an Intel Computestick and a Raspberry Pi3. With this extra money, I will be able to expand by adding an Odroid XU4 (just playing with all these SBCs) and a used 1U server that will come with 16 logical cores.
Now I am just waiting for delivery...
Nice, all contribution to science is great to read about. That you've made a small, but yet profitable, gain on it is great to read about.
For science!
(and profit...)
It's good to see that I can offset my electricity bill and even invest in some additional, but modest, equipment.
I want people to know that the value of GRC isn't entirely theoretical.
