This was basically me, though I was mining XMR (and FCN because dual mining is free) on Minergate.
Based on using BOINC years ago I've been thinking for awhile now about obtaining a cryptcurrency for "mining" science work. I knew that a coin with actual intrinsic value could be made based on this work - "intrinsic value" because the coins represent actual valuable data that's been completed for real scientific, social, and global issues.
It's never set right with me how cryptocurrencies are all a complete waste of resources. It's absurd to reward nothing.
