I'd really appreciate punctuation in the future, this is a horrible wall of text to read, but I'll give it a shot parsing what you're talking about.
Yesterday I raised concerns about your choice of platform for a discussion url and how the poll could be served to concentrate power among those mentioned by it and you chose to respond to me with insults. You called me stupid, accused me of "causing a ruckus" and harming our marketing efforts all because I dared criticize your methods.
I don't think calling someone stupid is that unprofessional, if there was hate speech or slurs then sure, but that's not the case here.
Causing a ruckus and harming marketing are subjective opinions not insults, arguably by publicly fighting you are doing exactly that.
Your conduct has been deeply unprofessional and I no longer believe you should be allowed access to our twitter if you can't handle criticism without immediately resorting to insults.
This poll is about potentially granting access, there is no currently established access, you're free to vote against the poll, but you could instead be interacting with the other volunteer if you don't want to interact with Vortac.
If anything would be harmful to our marketing efforts it would be having our social media controlled by someone with such little impulse control.
He'd be provided limited access, the ability to produce tweets, if there was a serious theoretical code of conduct issue then tweets can be deleted easily. I highly doubt that Vortac would take any malicious actions with the Twitter account though. This is solely Twitter we're talking about though, not all social media.
You continuously ignore the point i was making, that steemit is an ill suited platform for open and free discussion.
It is open and free from censorship, it doesn't require an upfront investment to register, if you want an account immediately then sure you would have to buy an account, but just take the time now to make an account so that in the future this isn't a problem.
I mentioned in another comment that anyone can create similar discussions on other platforms then post a comment in here with all the links with a header like "Not registered? Discuss in these alternative forums" to give everyone a voice - easy solution.
Both Reddit and CCT can and have been open to censorship in the past.
You argue with that steemit content was community approved, which is a non-sequitur because we're not talking about sharing content, we're talking about its viability as a free an open discussion platform.
The Gridcoin network voted to approve posting Steemit and Whaleshares content on the Twitter account, fair enough we didn't vote on allowing these as discussion URLs (we could create such a poll if you want), but there's no rules on what URL you provide.
Steemit and Whaleshares are free and open platforms for discussion. Make an account now so that you can post in the future, and for those without accounts link to alternative platform threads, solved.
Likewise your argument that reddit is just as bad because we only control our subreddit and not the whole website is equally fallacious, not to mention incredibly disingenuous.
In what way? You cannot post any Gridcoin content outwith the following subs: gridcoin, gridcoinmarket, cryptocurrency, cryptomarkets.
Anywhere else results in swift censorship, you can't post anything Gridcoin related on the BOINC subreddit due to a trigger happy mod - every sub has a set of unknown mods with absolute authority. Even the /r/gridcoin sub has several unknown/inactive mods which could clamp down on free speech.
On a platform like this, if we're in a heated argument the worst I can do is flag your post which hides it and counters rewards, your content does not get deleted and is preserved forever on the blockchain, where as on alternative platforms like Reddit & CCT your content can be deleted.
Would I ever delete content on the sub, no, but look at how reddit has enabled /r/bitcoin censorship for years leading to branching subs like /r/btc it's not as free as steemit.
Furthermore, CCT is not dead just because there's little activity on there. The website is still very much online and perfectly viable as a discussion platform since unlike Steemit, signing up take mere moments and doesn't require you to give them your phone number to be sold to advertisers.
So make a related thread and post a comment in here to it so that those without a Steemit account can post in there? There's no need to demand other to do things which you could be doing. It has lost a lot of its activity though, many have moved onto other platforms to talk about Gridcoin.
You keep mentioning that nobody objected on slack ahead of time which is once again disingenuous because for one, discussions about polls are supposed to occur when they go live (hence the existence of discussion urls).
EDIT: Missed responding to this.
I wouldn't say it was disingenuous, if these discussions took place without significant complaints with several parties that's like a first draft.
I'd far prefer to see people discussing theoretical polls ahead of creating the poll, so that we don't have really low quality polls being created or unneccessary drama being inflicted due to misreading the community.
Like say I threw up a few whitelist polls with correct discussion URLs out of the blue - it might upset people because it's out of the blue, they might get spooked into changing the projects they're crunching or stop crunching altogether. Gauging public support through poll drafts and related discussion is reasonable preparation.
[...] and for another, no one could know ahead of time you were going to choose an ill suited platform for discussion.
It's been accepted as a valid discussion URL plenty of times in the past, for example the following polls:
https://gridcoinstats.eu/poll/roadmap:_solving_the_stake_weight_problem
https://gridcoinstats.eu/poll/new_marketing_initiative
https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@jringo/the-gridcoin-treasury-a-proposal
https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@jringo/gridcoin-4-0-2018-general-roadmap-poll-securing-superblocks
https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@jringo/gridcoin-4-0-2018-general-roadmap-poll-receiving-earned-research-rewards
https://gridcoinstats.eu/poll/roadmap:_proof_of_research_blockchain
https://gridcoinstats.eu/poll/roadmap:_determining_magnitude
https://gridcoinstats.eu/poll/roadmap:_solving_the_stake_weight_problem
The above polls were of far higher importance, yet no complaints of using Steemit over reddit? It's an acceptable format, create parallel threads on other platforms and link here for greater community coverage.
[...] you would exclude the majority of the twitter team from your post.
There's technically only myself and Quez on the Twitter team, nobody else, hence the public call for volunteers and now voting on those who came forwards to volunteer.
You completely failed to mention noah, neuralminer, an0n, barton and geebell as part of the team, which would effectively result in their removal from it should your poll pass.
What do you mean? None of these users are approved Twitter publishers. They need to volunteer first & potentially replicate this poll for their own approval if they're interested. Nobody is being removed from power with this poll.
That combined with your blatant hostility and the condescension with which you have chosen to approach this issue has me questioning your intentions behind this poll.
The intentions of the poll are pretty straight forwards, they're requesting approval to tweet, there's no secret agenda behind the poll as far as I'm aware.
Frankly I've stepped back somewhat from the social media aspect because of how incredibly hostile individuals were becoming towards me for not posting exactly how they liked, it's an unpaid and extremely taxing role.
If you want to set a positive example then make your own Twitter account and start marketing Gridcoin yourself instead of fixating on 'official' accounts. I seriously doubt any other crypto community operates this way, for good reason.
At any rate, your conduct has been appalling and my "no" now represents opposition to your appointment in addition to my previous concerns. Good day
You're free to vote against the poll, that's what matters.
This is incredibly deceptive and parts of it are outright lies. Much of this will be cleared up in a lengthy post I'm working on.
Regarding my content you linked to, I'll give you benefit for now and consider that you simply did not read the links you linked to, or that you do not remember the rules you described wrt CCT.
First, the treasury was never a vote.
Second, my proposals are always VERY cross-platform. I spend a lot of effort ensuring this is so. Anyone interested, please read any of my proposals. They are all cross-posted in the first paragraph if not the first line and an active effort is made to bring conversations across platforms.
Moreover, much of this is from way back when there was no engagement team.
This is a very disappointing response.
EDIT ADD:
Incorrect.
