The Ultimate GPU?

The new Titan V from Nvidia is paintetd gold and has a whopping 7.5 TFLOPS for double precision computing. Or about 10x that of an R9 290 (which is about 0.7 TFLOPS).

It is a pretty nice card, indeed. But I still would prefer to get a HD7970 which has about 1TFLOP in DP. The only thing that is better on the Titan V is the power consumption of about 250W, which is the same as the HD7970. But of course you would need 7 of those HD7970 to get the same amount of TFLOP as the Titan V. I would wait until the price drops about 50% and then maybe buy it.

Ya, the power consumption is much, much better plus less infrastructure (PSU/mobo etc) is required to get it going. You could throw it into a gaming rig and have a super computer on your hands without anyone even knowing it's there.

Not to mention, it's painted gold. GOLD
