Wait did I write this? Who is @vortac? Wait did I write my story on a machine and you hacked me and posted it as yours? Pretty much same history , seti@home almost 2 decades back with the 4mb stb riva128 with a stick of 4mb EDO SODIMM ( yes same as laptop ram ) slot filled and 2 x 12mb voodoo2 sli'ed card's so my openGL seti@home screen saver ran as smooth as possible watching the 3.5mhz waterfall spectrum images the 8mb sli's were just not cool enough. We had MMX now for years , K6-2 K6-3 chips and boards like the FIC PA2013 a 2mb L3 cache version of their PA2012 were the norm. The good ol day's of computing. Great story man , we seriously have a pretty parralel view in between now and when Berkeley's alpha project was released.
