Massive thanks to @jesta for creating our Gridcoin Forum here on the decentralized and generally wonderful chainBB site. Now you can easily find all of your Gridcoin goodness in one place, free from censorship.

If you didnt login to chainBB yet, to login you will need your PRIVATE posting key (find it in your wallet under the Perm

issions tag).

chainBB is in beta, but I have great hopes for its future, just as I do for Gridcoin.

EDIT: Here is the link https://beta.chainbb.com/forum/gridcoin Doh!

Good, I like forums. I asked for the education and mathematics ones! Makes it easier to follow old interesting posts.

I am seeing this new forum about gridcoin, but I am really a noob about this coin. Can anyone explain what it will be solving in future :)

Yes we can help you out. So Gridcoin is similar to other cryptocurrencies, the main difference is it rewards you for using your CPU/GPU on valuable work. Most coins use hashes which are mathmatical solutions, but they have no meaning, and only one solution is used and all the rest are discarded, not very efficient.

Gridcoin uses BOINC which has many different projects, but they are all doing something useful with the solutions. World Community Grid hosts many projects like searching for cures to childhood cancer, Ebola, AIDS. You can search for new huge prime numbers, help make a 3d map if the milky way, understand the orbits of asteroids, search for new fundamental particles at the Large Hadron Collider and a lot more.

Take a look at the project list here, it has links to more info about each project.

How big is the team of this project ?
Looks like a lot going on with this

Yeah so there are over 2,000 regular active participants and 10,000 people signed up to team Gridcoin. BOINC is different but that is one of our main target audiences, there are around 400k regular participants and millions signed up. To get all those people on-boarded to Gridcoin needs some developer work; but we have a lot of talented folks in the community and more people join every day. We have a core group of developers, but this is all volunteer based so Im not aware of an official 'dev team'; goals are managed by the community, people who solo mine Gridcoin can vote (in the blockchain!) on key issues, and even some things just for fun :)

Pro tip: A link to the site where you want people to go often helps!

Aww!!! How did I miss that! Ill edit now.

EDIT: Cos I posted it from chainBB, not steemit!!

I thought that a few seconds after commenting ;)

Still valid.
