Some story about Me and Gridcoin

in #gridcoin7 years ago

I was always geek for computers and electronics. Spedt lot of time watching SETI screensaver. Always wonder why people participate. I done that for fun and maybe to be part of something.

Hacking, hmmmm, always tryed to code. There are better coders than me.

After some readings i realize that it was always going in one direction. People now create new world... Digital world.

Cryptocurrencies, what it is??? Simple.... new order, fredom and utopia.

I wanted to be miner but.... to late. My hardware it to slow. And my wallet is empty. (Imagine - i do everything on Android 4.4.2 phone and Asus Ebox B202).

Ok lets begin on Gridcoin.

Firtst of all i still experimenting, feel free to follow or decide by yourself. My choises were determinated by my emotional state and hardware limitations.

How to insert picture in post?????? Help me....

Ok.....

That is my PC :( EEeeePc

And My Veeery heavy Phone. Wt4

Yes.... I code and do all using only them.

But not hardware but brain is important. when i was young i start with Sinclair ZX80....

later Commedore Vic-20,

then first my pc Carry 1 XT 4,7 MHz, it was 9" display and size of book. 2 1,44 floppies and no HDD, hercules/cga !!! video adapter.

if in those days i could have that much power of computation i will become something like Google or more:)

:)

Lets back to topic maybe.

Gridcoin

How i started? (it was hard way, read all before follow to avoid my mistakes)
Remember it if from zero way.... starting without any investment. Sad was that Gridcoin has to be at ballance >0 to start. Solution was in documentation.

I have to decide Linux or Windows. Wanted to do on Kali linux but Kali is not like other normal distributions... So i have to do Windows :(. But i will try on Kali later.

I made fresh installation of Windows 32 bit, wanted 64 but Atom is only 32.

After tons of updates it was ready.

Installation of wallet.

Not so simple, after reading instructions i was still in dark hole, what to do??? Investor mode, Solo mining, pool mining. what is that?? Decision was simple, with no money for start only solution pool mining. (You have to have account >0 to jump into chain they say and Magnitude and lot of strange stuff.

Boinc client installation.

Just downlaod Boinc Client Win32 Client and install like other programs.

I already have accounts on lot of projects so i dont have to signup to them. So like always i configured Boinc to use Seti@home - my favourite project.

Yeaaaahhh i done lot of mistakes.... i wanted to pool mining but try to setup like solominer... never mind.

After 1 day of investigations...... i am unable to reproduce my way....

Just for You..... you don't have to install Default there are others. But Gridcoin is POS so best is to run wallet 24/7... later in that post i give you steps. Now my wallet is running on my EEEpc and Boinc too. And i am writing that post.:)

I joined the Gridcoin Team on every project. Later i realize that it was not important since i do pool mining they care about all of that.

There is link to pool Gridcoinpool , just register and follow another instructions...aaaaaaa

Ok i have Pool acount... they want my GRC Adress...

I planninh to solo minning in future so i decided to install GridCoinResearch Client (oryginal Gridcoin Wallet full functional, with GUI):)

Download

Again install and run.... anddddd... patience.... yes will be nided.

You dont have to provide email when you are investor - i am not... i provided.

Like all of beginners i was angry..... everything is broken.... nothing works.... just wait until blockchain synchronize i that monent it is ~~ 1GB and remember wallet is checking that file.. my poor 2x1,6 Atom was buuuusy.

This post start to be tooooo long.... next one

I'm glad you're up and running now, welcome!

If you ever get bored of SETI your fellow Poles have a good non-GPU project, Universe@Home. It is ran by the University of Warsaw.

Thank you for your introduction @zwirzu and welcome to Gridcoin with the best community on Steemit .

Interesting post. But if it's so hard with mining, may be you can just buy Gridcoin and earn from staking?
Trading and accepting Gridcoin as payment are also options

I am mining and trading. Now have bought some GRC for the future:)

Good decision!
