Today marks 2 months since you've passed - man it feels like so much longer than that. I recently picked up your ashes, I think that was one of the hardest things in my life. The moment the vet handed me your ashes, I broke down. My knees became weak and I fell to the floor in tears. The vet kindly escorted me out to my car - once I collected myself, I talked to you. I reminded you how loved you were, how loved you still are and how much I miss you. Damn, I miss you so much it hurts. My heart is heavy and I know that it will take time to heal. You were in my FIRST dream a week ago - it was amazing - it gave me a huge smile and brought so much light to my heart. I was at a camp with a bunch of people and a guy came up to me and said, "Hey! Your dog has been looking everywhere for you!" After that, you came running into my arms and you sat on my lap. And it is because of that dream that I have been reassured that you're okay. We did not know that your life was going to end so quick - so tragic, but I am beyond thankful for all of the memories. I love you, Finnegan <3

He is a beautiful Bernese!!! Sounds like he had a lot of character. Grief is one of the hardest things in life but he is galloping around in fields somewhere, with unlimited treats and pets. Stay strong fitchick - I believe we all reunite at the end <3

Beautiful photos. I know how you feel in these trying times. We all know we will outlive our best friend but we go in whole heartedly. Thanks for sharing your story. I won't be able to show my wife or we both will break down.

Thanks for the comment - it is so incredibly tough losing our companions. Some wise words that I was told was that our companions already know how to love immediately when they enter our worlds. That is why they do not stay with us as long because they accomplish their duties before we do. I loved hearing that!
