A lot of people don't know when it is time to grow up. I work with people who come to work high, drug, or late. This is not being grown. What is the benefit of coming to work after smoking weed? How can you be productive? What is with wearing sun glasses indoors to hide your high eyes? Stumbling because you had some shots while you were getting dressed. You are not on your way to the club. You are coming to do a job, take care of someone, count money or put an item together in a factory. This can really put someone's life in danger.
Another thing is knowing what to wear and when to wear it. Don't come to a corporate environment looking like rainbow bright. How is that business casual? Oh and don't let me speak on the language or verbiage used. You may have grown up in the hood, but you are not in the hood when you go make your money unless you work in a ghetto hair salon or restaurant. I can't stand people who cannot speak proper English.
Someone I work with was told to not sashay down the hall, wear business attire, speak proper English, and not be so loud. She cried 2 days in a row. She feels her new boss is picking on her.
