We love not when we say we do, but when we show we do; Project steemcare

Is steemit an avenue for you to change your bank account or an avenue to change the world?

When I discovered steemit by my elder brother @ehiboss, I remember one of the few questions he asked me, he said 'I hope you won't lose your personality when you make money?'
There are certain times when I get tired of posting with my phone because my pc got spoilt, I simply just hijack his computer to sign in and post. He will be like 'I have to curate posts' and I usually win such arguments by telling him that a little good goes a long way. One of such moments is today, don't worry, he's just sulking as I write this post, how I love playing the role of a little sister.

The question from the statement above is if we are privileged to have spare change in our accounts, why not help others who not only lack, but also lack the means to even help themselves?
Without further delay, I bid you welcome to my introduction.

What is steemcare and how is it related to the Steemit In Nigeria?

Steemcare is a non profit initiative by @ehiboss, @jade56, @illuminatus, @gloglo to help the less privileged in the society or in our community for now.

Steemit has given us a priceless gift, however, what will we be without also giving back to the society. @ehiboss or my senior brother as I like to call him, has always stressed the importance of helping others and made us realize that steemit is not a get rich quick scheme, it is a place where we generate love and content and we are rewarded for it and as such why not simply extend the love to all?

The value of love does not stop at saying I wish I could do this, I extends to I want to do more.
I said non profit with a stress on those two words because we gain nothing except the satisfaction that some people in our environment somewhere will have access to a decent meal and some basic things.

We are a product of love(steemit) and as such we must also share that love to others. In an environment where although we do not yet have abundance, we have realized that it is not until we have abundance that we can share, after all, human wants are insatiable.

There are so many people who do not have access to good education, water food etc and steemcare aims at taking care of the basic things for now.
This programme totally targets sponsoring steemit through charity and although we are not asking anyone to contribute as we believe for now we the founding members must see this project through to the end. We have agreed to visit an orphanage in the first Saturday of September and also to give food to homeless people.

Over time, we hope to be able to provide scholarships to pupils and students from our pockets and help promote education, but for now we will stick to the things our steemit earnings can afford us.

We are targeting steemit branded water bottles/bottle water, two 25kg bag of rice, toiletries, exercise books and stationeries. Your upvotes and resteems will actually go a long way in helping our project, although for now, we have collectively agreed not to collect any donations from anyone yet.

The reason for that is not because of pride, it is because we want our first charity event to be our way of saying thank you to steemit for helping us in the first place and that is through our personal earnings. We have agreed to contribute 10,000 naira each, which is about 40 SBD each. We might consider donations in other subsequent outings.

Instead you can support or donate to the Steemit In Nigeria event coming up in November in Osun State.

Please upvote and resteem.

Thank you

nice post.....

me gsuto te felicito, buen post!!

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! MOOOONEEEEEEY!

I am speechless. This is what it looks like to see greatness worth emulating. Wow, I am very humbled to learn about your mission.

Hey, just so i understand, what can you buy with 10,000 naira? How far does that amount go?

Abundance is so relative. I look forward to seeing your answer to @stellabelle.

A few years ago I saw a project that introduced a special straw with a filter in it, so that water not fit to drink, could actually be drunk with the use of this straw.

Imagine how that could benefit people in regions of the world where there is no fresh drinkable water anymore. Of course in the longer term the reason why the water had been contaminated in the first place still needs to be addressed.

I saw this post late. 13 hours to pay out!!!. I will keep tab for next event. Upvoted, i hope it helps.

Nice, upvoted, followed, and resteemed!

This is really nice of you @jade56. You have stated the truth which is you don't have to have it all before you can give back to society. One thing i grew up believing was the act of showing gratitude. Giving back is one sure way of showing grati

Very nice post! THX!!
