South Korea said Thursday it will provide Guatemala with US$200,000 worth of humanitarian assistance for damages from a massive volcanic eruption.

The death toll from the latest disaster to hit the Central American country totaled 75 as of Wednesday, with 192 missing, 44 injured and 12,089 evacuated, according to South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Local news reports said the number of those killed rose to 99 on Thursday.
The emergency aid is expected to help stabilize the life of victims as early as possible and help with the recovery of damages, the ministry said.
