Any steemit minnow would one day like to have a bigger influence and stake on this platform as their fellow whales. After doing some research, the following six ways are some of the top-most tips on how you can become a whale this year.
1. Get BTC And Then Buy STEEM
On this platform, steem is like fuel. You need it as long as you want to continue flourishing. One of the easiest and cheapest ways you can get steem is buying it using bitcoin. If you are from EU, you can buy BTC from Bitstamp, and those in the USA can purchase the same from Bitfinex or other local exchanges. You can also buy STEEM directly with Credit Card at a little higher price.
2. Power Up
STEEM is a currency, and to make it usable on the Steemit platform you need to Power Up. Go to https://steemit.com/@YOURNICKNAME/transfers and click https://steemit.com/@YOURNICKNAME/transfers.

Unless you want to host a witness node the best way is just to write good posts. Don’t copy-paste other people’s contents, lest you find yourself flagged or downvoted. Just write on topics that interest you. Always keep tags on topic and you will gain viewers!

After you write a good post, it’s good to let people know about it. Login to Steemit Chat and post it Here or search other channels to do so. Just look for channel rules, that is, never put links in general channel. You can post them on Twitter with tags #steemit $STEEM (yes with a dollar) for a chance to retweet.

I have no intentions of ever becoming a "Whale", but these are some great tips. Honestly I still don't quite understand how Steemit really works and its hard to find clear content on that.
