I've been thinking about learning how to play guitar for years! I start saving money and before i get the guitar i spend the money somewhere else... i guess it's not really a priority to me, last time my saved money went to buy cryptos :P
There are plenty of good, cheap guitars out there and it's never been a better time to learn as there are thousands of free lessons online. I wish I'd had that when I started
Good for you. Yes, it is fun to learn, I love it.
You are pursuing your love of music what could be better @steevc ?
Cheers. I need to dedicate time to this as there's so much to learn
This was interesting - I started listening to your video, then decided I needed to watch the lesson to understand what you were doing: really enjoyed both :). It reminded me how much I enjoyed live music; the Gas Club that I belong to has a regular jazz night which I used to go to, and then, there is the amazing Derby Jazz, not quite so easy to get to their gigs, but worth it!
I'd like to find more opportunities to play more interesting music. I'll keep working on the stuff with the clarinetist.
Yes, it's good to have other musicians around. Look forward to hearing more 😊
Sounding good man! Loving that peddle selection you've got going on. Almost makes me want to dust off my axe and start playing again. Between carpal tunnel and my arthritis not a good idea! Keep on jamming!
I think playing solo's is one of the most difficult parts of making music. I'm always falling in repeat :) ....
Those scales indeed sounds jazzy !
Very impressive! I really like jazz and it would be cool to be able to play some stuff like that one day. Right now I am just struggling to pick the right string and keep my fingers in the right place without muffling other strings!
Looking forward to some jazz tunes!
jazz=eargasm.
I met an old musician one time when I was on a bus. I had my electric with me back then so we conversed. He told me that when studying music you shouldn't really constrict yourself with music theory. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't study it. Its more like it gives you a sense of understanding of how it works and the moment you could understand several aspects, you'll be able to represent emotions and meanings behind your music. He has been teaching people music for years and was already on his retirement then.
That old man was poetic and really philosophical. One of my greatest talk with a stranger and a co-music enthusiast. Cheers and good luck :D.
May Gob bless you!
May you achieve your goals soon and i can tell you will achieve becuase you are doing very hard work and you are very good at it.
Stay blessed
Have a blessed day
Keep up the good work
Overdoing it as an artform.
Not having a musical bone in my body, I always admire those who do. My Dad was very talented both vocally and using various instruments (he was a band master for the Air Force Cadets). I used to get so frustrated I could never help out, being both tone deaf and without the slightest rhythm :(
PS: Sorry to ask Steeve. Just posted my very first post/blog, any chance you could give me some feedback? I think I should have added more text, but didn't want to bore anyone too much.
