Do you really think more Gun Control will make a difference?

I am not an American but my wife is, and I thought I'd share some of my personal opinions on this very sensitive yet important matter. People say it's the 2nd Amendment and it's a right to own arms. I'm all for it. I agree.

However, case in point is that what people would be doing in getting more gun control is treating the symptom, not the sickness. It's a heart issue. It's a mind issue. It's what we teach our children. The values of life, the importance of respecting each other.

What needs to be focused on is:

  • Teaching people to love each other
  • Mutual respect (even if the other person doesn't give it)
  • Judiciously scrutinize when people get to own guns
  • Help steer our children in the right direction

There's a lot more to discuss on this highly sensitive topic. I would love to hear your input and help have a positive, encouraging discussion.

Anything have it's own advantage and disadvantages, leaving gun to everyone in libiya caused the situation there...
I think it should be controled.

Get kids off of so many psychoactive pharmaceuticals would be one area where I would start. Make sure they are eating properly and getting some form of daily exercise and they wouldn't need nearly as much meds.

Yes, too much of that going around. So you're thinking, maybe organic?

I don't blame kids for having screwed up brains with all the chemicals that they are exposed to from conception let alone how little nourishing food that the average person eats on the Standard American Diet (SAD).

Also if laws were put into place that held the owner of the gun used in a crime legally responsible if their kids use it would likely cut down on the number of people having access to guns. Maybe America also shouldn't make so many guns. That is just a thought as well.

Yes, legal repercussions could make a dent in this problem.
