Bodyshot Gym- My First Gym Experience

I took the leap this past week and I decided to go to the gym for my first workout. I don’t really need to lose any weight but I’d like to gain muscle. I am 5'3 and only 99 pounds. I was always called skinny by everyone my whole life.

Anyway, I thought I would do a little post on my first gym experience because I have read plenty of blog posts about healthy living and exercise in Steemit.

My sister @lebron2016 and I walked over the gym, there’s a lot of gyms in our city but we chose Bodyshot Gym, as it seems well equipped and is only 15 minutes by car where we live, so is easily accessible.

Signing up was very easy, i got form from reception and just filled in my details. I went for a monthly gym membership and then paid $30, i got my membership card which i just take with me when i go.

Of course, I was very tired, but I was expecting to feel A LOT worse. I know i could do this on a daily basis but only if my sister is with me. I had a bad experience of Physical Education when I was in high school that it made me see myself as unfit and that I wasn’t good at anything.Anyway, after paying $30 for membership, my sister @lebron2016 and i walked on the treadmill, and we did about 30 minutes on there and then went on the bike for 15 minutes. Lastly, we ended up doing the leg raises for 20 minutes and went back home.

My Advice
It’s absolutely difficult going to the gym, but my advice would be to stop thinking and start doing. The more your brain overthinks, the less likely you are to go. Having someone there who knows what they are doing can really boost your confidence. If you are thinking about joining, then make sure to wear suitable clothing for the gym and wear comfortable shoes. I would also highly recommend to choose a time when it would be quieter, i like going to the gym from 4pm to 6pm. Do not to make the first session too strenuous and always remember, everyone had to start from the bottom once.

I don't think you are that skinny. I know girls thinner than you. Good luck with your muscle building. Persevere and stay motivated.It's not going to be easy but you have taken the first step so keep going!
