Water is a transparent and nearly colourless chemical substance that is the main component of Earth's lakes, oceans and streams and the fluids of most living organisms. Its chemical formula is H2O, meaning that each of its molecules contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms that are connected by equivalent bonds. Water refers to the liquid state of a substance that prevails at standard temperature and pressure; but it often refers also to its solid state (ice) or its gaseous state (steam or water vapor). It also occurs in nature as snow, clouds, fog, dew, aquifers, and atmospheric humidity.
Water covers 71% of the Earth's surface. It is essential for all known forms of life. On Earth, 96.5% of the planet's crust, water is found in oceans and seas, a small fraction in other large water bodies, 0.001% in the air as vapor. Only 2.5% of this water is freshwater, and 98.8% of that water is in ice (except ice in clouds) and groundwater. Less than 0.3% of all freshwater is in lakes, rivers, and the atmosphere.A greater quantity of water is found in the earth's interior.
Water on Earth moves continually through the water cycle of evaporation and transpiration, condensation, precipitation, and runoff, usually reaching the sea. Large amounts of water are also chemically combined or absorbed in hydrated minerals.
Water is important to life. In all life aspects, including you, it's used both
as a solvent (it can dissolve things, such as body metabolism) and in many
metabolic processes. This means that water is used in the chemical
processes in your body. Metabolism is divided into two parts:
"anabolism and catabolism"
Water is removed from molecules in anabolism to make larger molecules such as
starches or proteins for storage. In catabolism water is used as a solvent
to break apart molecules and make smaller ones such as amino acids, glucose and other things.
Photosynthetic plant cells use water as well. Water is made up of two
hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom which brings us to H2O. Photosynthetic cells in plants use energy from the Sun to distinct the hydrogen atoms from the oxygen atom. The
hydrogen is combined with carbon dioxide (CO2) to get glucose and the plant gives away oxygen "waste" that
we breathe. This is why it's important to water your plants.
Relying on your age and body size, the human body is commonly 55% - 78% water. Depending on temperature, daily activities etc. The recommended amount is 1-2 litres, or about 7-8 cups of water every day.
If you were to a get a cup from a well and view it under a
microscope, you would probably see many tiny organisms in it. Water supports many life forms, from microscopic organisms to large aquatic mammals such as dolphins and whales. Most fishes spend their entire lives in water and "amphibians" live parts of their lives in water. As
it was said, water is essential to life.

This is very informative thank you,
Its amazing how important water is to everything
You are very much welcome
