Yesterday @andrarchy did a great job at answering people to comments on Hackernews about the article featuring Steemit.com on WIRED magazine https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15408365
I, myself, got my blood boiling and went on a rampage to answer the snarky ignorant comments. When I realized that I was losing my composure and started becoming the less noble part of myself I had to stop.
BUT, in the pile of garbage comments I discovered something:
https://steemh.com by computerwizard. With a bit of research I discovered that this beauty was made by @adept. I encourage you to start following him. He's got interesting ideas going.
He's not monetizing his interface
SteemConnect makes it very easy to deal with the authentication issue and security. But until SteemConnect 2.0 comes out, the arbitrary reward mechanism is not in place to allow him to monetize.
He probably stopped developing when he didn't get the interaction he was hoping for but I wish he did! It's a really good start! Hopefully, if I can get this article to go in the trending section, maybe I can give him the motivation to keep going. Developers need our support!
I will find him...
A cool interface is not everything when it comes to create a website that has a large community. There are features coming out soon that will give this website the possibility to create a genuine community experience like HackerNews is doing. (I'm thinking about the combination of SMTs/Community Features/Arbitrary Rewards, etc.)
If you are an interface developer, find people who would like to lock arm with you and help you bootstrap your vision. I, myself, will go and encourage @adept and vote for his posts.
"I, myself, got my blood boiling and went on a rampage to answer the snarky ignorant comments." Sounds like you got triggered xD
Yo why were you losing your cool?
because of the comment section
Great post
Nice hackernews post
Unfortunately I'm not an interface designer, but the very idea of the appearance of these functions is very much for me and I want to see what happens. Thank you @cryptoctopus

it's the work of @steemchiller referred to me by @afrog
I used that yesterday when @roadscapes' steemd was down to return upvotes
Es difícil mantener la compostura cuando estás siendo atacado con comentarios basura.
The timing of your post is excellent; Steemit had a DDos attack yesterday.
Stale news. :)
I just read all the comments and replies on HN mate, really a lot of nonsensical people commenting there my friend! I can't understand how they can't see the benefits of this amazing platform.
Thanks for sharing the work of @adept mate, I was not aware of him up to now, will check him out soon and go through his work.
Have a great weekend my friend!
Btw you are posting on Saturdays too now, that's great! But do look for some time for your wife too, never forget!
@progressivechef
@cryptoctopus,
Respect the way you think! This community needs people like you!
Cheers~
I like the idea of being able to create a new interface for Steemit . I read the API and it occurred to me there's a lot of ways this could go. Conventional forums / comments are nice, but distributing them over a series of sites might be a lot more powerful than siloed content.
We all have to get together and support hackers news and all such type of projects who are working behind the screen to safeguard us. Resteemed this post. Thanks
That's pretty cool to know thanks for the tips by the way :)
Over 400,000 members on Steemit now, I hope they all see your great post also.
@cryptoctopus - Sir, I think you are little angry with that comment section :) But, you are correct Sir, we need to help those app builders, our rewards are the motivation & the inspiration of them. I like what you are doing Sir <3

Thanks for posting this @cryptoctopus I have checked out hacker news too. There are people commenting about steemit who have never actualy tried it. Most of the comments were comparing steemit platform with others that failed or with others that had no similarities to compare steemit technology too. @andrarchy your comments I thought were excellent which gave a detailed account of the inner workings and technology behind steemit. Although there will always be those who compare us to the failures or unsuccessfull platforms but in reality, we STEEMIANS have a great opportunity and not only too make money but to be rewarded by the community interaction for our content however small or large.
ITS ALL FREE so why we still have people who critcize us, becomes almost trolling to get a ruse out of passionate steemians.
I for one ame enjoying steemit and everything that come with it. I joined for FREE, Have NOT used any of my OWN money and yet I earned $14 in 1 day just for 2 posts, & I still have lots to learn about steemit.
If I can earn lots then great but the community is fantastic and the help is always available.
Good post
