The large stakeholders can ignore the behavior of those who are using various means to grab the rewards. They will pay for ignoring the issue with the price of their holdings. And the place will become a bigger money grab than it is already. It's up to them.

If (he,she,it) came to me and asked, I would tell him he could make more money over time by supporting some others and participating in the community. Make a fewer posts and use some of those upvotes to encourage other Authors who produce content that he is interested in.
If he or she isn't interested in content they could sell votes or rent or lease voting power to help other accounts build their base and the "Steem Holder" (rancho and Haejin) could still earn plenty of money and likely over a longer time frame.
