I love a good cup of tea with spice and cream. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you so! In fact, there was a time in my life that my friends kept giving me pretty little tea cups and even a tea rack. My mom also gave me a tea rack and numerous tea cups (the cups were my Grandma's). They were suppose to be Mom's but she knew that I was kind of a tea and teacup lover!
Well, this love of tea has "spilled" into my soap making! As I began to "pour" myself into the career of soap design, I quickly discovered that there are lots of fun varieties that you can create! Tea in soap is one of them. Tea can be brewed to make soap, if one desires. It also, as in the case of today's feature, can be added loose right into the soap batter to create a gently exfoliating soap.
There are many different spices and other great things that can be added to soap to make them special and helpful to your skin. Think in the case of Charcoal Soap. Adding charcoal to soap is beneficial as charcoal can absorb so many toxins from our skin, making it a helpful ingredient for those who are acne prone (hmmm...I haven't given it a lot of thought, but I need that myself! Ha! No better time to start than the present.).
In the case of this lovely tea soap, I have added nutmeg. Nutmeg has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to reduce the sight of pimples, as it has the potential of healing scars caused by acne or even sun spots. Nutmeg is moisturizing and exfoliating. We are constantly dealing with dead skin cells on our bodies, and it's nice to be able to scrub them soothingly away with a spice like this one!
You can also see that today's feature has honey in it too. How is that helpful? Well, it is a natural humectant, which is great for the skin, as it can help the skin to retain moisture! This ingredient also has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. And here's another soap-nerdy fact for you: Honey makes the soap lather up nicely!
Let me just say that this batch of soap is probably going to be among the first of many different types of tea soaps in the Lathers for Life shop!
But for now, this one will be the star!
( You can find my lovely handmade soaps and more on my website: http://lathersforlife.com/index.html
I ship only to the U.S. to keep things simple with shipping. HOWEVER, you may find a FEW of these same items in my Ebay shop, which DOES ship globally. Today's featured soap will be in this Ebay shop in a couple of days, while supplies last:

I better try making soaps as well. This looks so wonderful and I think the process is as well

I definitely enjoy the process AND the result! Have fun! Watch safety videos first.
