Good afternoon my fellow Steemian's! Hope everyone is having a great Monday start to their week :)
Today I'm sharing with you the latest on Jentz Creations - Wire Wrap Crosses!
These crosses were a lot of fun to make with so many color combinations imaginable to choose from. Pure copper & stainless steel wire are the main materials used in this creation. I always do my best to use the purest materials I have on hand & pride myself in that.
We have up to four metal combinations to have fun with and an endless combination of bead & crystal adornment. I have discovered that I need to broaden my bead & crystal collection for more creative enjoyment! Will put that on my to do list!!
The four metal combination are Copper on Copper, Silver on Silver, Copper on Silver, & Silver on Copper. They are made using an 18g or 16g wire molded by hand and hammered to shape. Then a 24g wire is used to wrap around each post on the cross making a cross in the center.
Currently I do not have a Silver on Copper combo to show, but the third picture below with the blue adornments is the Copper on Silver combo.
There are three "styles" to choose from and that is plain, simple, & "jazzed".
- Plain = It has no bead or crystal adornment
- Simple = is adorned with a single crystal bead in the center of the cross
- Jazzed = is adorned with a single crystal bead in the center of the cross & is wire wrapped with seed beads around each post of the cross
I absolutely fell in love with the first Jazzed cross I created. Felt like it completed the cross and brought everything together! This is just my opinion and would love to hear what yours is on that ;)
I thought these crosses would be perfect as a key chain to hang out with a bunch of keys or as a pendant for hanging out around the neck. These two elements can be interchangeable easily for your preference Later I will snap some modeled shots of them being displayed as a key chain & necklace, so stay tuned for that!
How would you style these crosses, a key chain or a necklace? Comment below with your preference :)
A lightweight chain is used for all of the crosses. The silver crosses have a matching silver chain and the copper crosses have a gold/brass chain. I cut these chains to be about 22", but the size can be customized and cut to any length.
I'm so pleased with the turnout of the crosses! They exceeded my expectations of them!! My favorite thus far is the Silver on Copper Key chain with the blue jazzed adornments. I would wear that guy around my neck to dress up an outfit for dinner, church, or any fun outing.
Next time will be a pair of hair pins inspired by these crosses. I haven't made hairpins before, but what better time to experiment with that then now! If you're interested in that soon to come post make sure to follow for it.
Which combination is your favorite out of them all? Tell us in the comments below or create your very own combo!
All crosses are available for sale and taking custom orders now.

Thank you for taking the time out to read my post. Have a lovely & blessed day now!!
I like them! Simple design but really effective. The central bead setting is a great idea too. Do you find wire wrapping quite calming? Ive been doing it a few years at least now and its become a sort of medative time for me, nice and quiet and time to ponder things whilst i work. May just be me!
Thank you! When I imagined them I didn't see them to be so glamorous!! They were kind of dole in my mind lol These came about by a quick idea and wasn't anything too serious, so my expectations of them were very low. It's funny how the things you have high expectations for end up being disappointments and not what you have hoped, but the things you have low expectations for end up blowing your mind and being a "wow" factor. Life and revelation is amazing! :)
I absolutely love wire wrapping and other forms of creative outlets! Making things with my own two hands using all kinds of materials is how I do relax and unwind from the everyday stress of life. Have Little's now has made it a bit of a challenge to continue doing it, but I still find time because I don't think I can give it up. Haha! Why take a hot bath to unwind when you can create something from imagination?!!
Other things I love creating and do are candles, building things with wood, and painting. One day I hope to own a sewing machine and design my own clothes because nothing in the stores is what I really like. Picky when it comes to what I wear ;)
Thank you for stopping by and giving me your thoughts!! If you share anything you create on here I would love to follow you and check it out. Its always fun to see what others have created themselves.
Oh absolutely. the unexpected ideas are always the best ones!
I know the feeling about trying to find time. I go through phases of getting lots made, currently its been 5 months of making regularly after a year break so i'm happy!
Most of my posts here are jewellery making, sometimes other crafts and diy, check it out if you fancy and let me know what you think :)
Mine has been off and on, too, and I can't seem to find a balance of consistency, but I'm working on it! One day I would love to get the Little's involved when they can better handle themselves! I will check it out and let you know :)
