Life offers us the opportunity to celebrate every day. Today is National Creamsicle Day, it sparks memories of my childhood. Particularly of the ice cream truck. Orange Creamsicles were one of my favorite treats. This memory is the inspiration for today’s poem.
and childhood delights,
we were free to roam,
that brought us joy,
made heading home a necessity,
would be glad,
they mostly would it seemed.
we sped like rockets,
and hope for good luck.
to beat the summer heat,
and cause a pout.
the pout didn’t last long,
in our second choice!

Orange Creamsicles: Only 3 Ingredients!-
This is a great recipe for homemade creamsicles. Making them provides you a healthier option, than the creamsicles sold in the stores. There is also a ingredient substitute for people that are lactose intolerant.

Pink colored Ice cream truck is one of Matteo's favorite vehicles! He watches YouTube everyday and delights in seeing the ice cream truck and the different ice cream flavors being served. But there are no ice cream trucks in our country. They don't exist. We have ice cream vendors on bicycles or on push carts but that's it. It's only in the internet that we get to see this : (
I don't think I ever saw a pink ice cream truck. Unfortunately, you don't see ice cream trucks in the neighborhoods any more. I think that there is a push cart ice cream vendor in the Boston Public Garden.

The pink colored ice cream truck is the most commonly seen in YouTube. Of course there are some that are white or green or two-toned but pink, by far, is what's common.
I guess ice cream trucks must be more of a thing in the past just like paperbacks? It looks as though people now prefer buying a gallon of their favorite flavor and just stock them in the fridge and then they can have ice cream anytime.
ahhhh... I remember the ice cream truck. A true Sound of Summer.
And creamsicles too!
It is sad that ice cream trucks don't come around like they did when I was kid. There hasn't been one in my neighborhood all summer.

I love these simple recipes. Where we live in France good quality jam is really cheap so we make ice cream with roughly equal quantities of jam, yougurt and cream and it is delicious!
That sounds delicious and easy!
