I think it is safe to assume that everybody is happy that 2020 is finally over 😄 Last year I wrote about the 2010s being a decade of crisis, little did I know what the coming year had in store and that 2020 put all previous crises into perspective.
Like many, I was also very optimistic for 2020 and had high expectations. Quotes from that post, like the following aged very poorly:
Well, it can only get better in 2020 and in the next decade in general, and I'm looking forward to that :)
It's fun to see, how optimistic people were a year ago. It was the beginning of a new decade and everything seemed possible. Only three to four months later this optimism was gone and people were already calling it the worst year ever.
As you can see from the quote above, I was also very excited for 2020, but this excitement also only lasted until April. But personally I can't really complain too much: I didn't experience any negative consequences in terms of my job. Also, I really like working in home office. Besides work, 2020 also impacted many aspects of my life, but I don't think that it was any more difficult for me than it was for anyone else.
Even though I was very wrong with my prediction for 2020, I am still cautiously optimistic for 2021 and hopefully things will get better soon.
Happy New Year!
