I've been nominated by @snook to take part in the #happyplace initiative/tag/whatever you wanna call it first started by @robertandrew a couple of weeks ago. Here is his original post and here is @snook's.
I kinda have two happy places.
The first one is the house in Fairfax, Virginia where I may have spent more time at the pool shown above than anywhere else. My second husband bought this house in the late 70s (when I was in grade-school LOL) with his first wife and the pool house was built in 2007. He had a stroke in 2002 - which is a long story in and of itself - but we remained friends even after we separated in 2010. The mosquitos in Virginia seem to think my blood is some kind of delicacy, and I got eaten alive clearing the brush and weeds and vines that had grown up over the space, but the picture above was taken after I had it mostly cleared. There was probably 100 pounds of weed smoked here in the 17 years between the time we met and when he died in 2016.
A few more of the house:
(I'm probably gonna take crap from @bluefinstudios for my shitty phone pics)
I'm gonna create another post for my current #happyplace because apparently I messed up the HTML code somewhere in this one and I can't figure out where ...
The idea behind this tag:
The place where you love to do a Combo of things including but not limited to, relaxing, pondering, eating and drinking, meditating, and yes even working on Steemit. This is a new Tag and Initiative that I am creating. I hope to see many others participate in the fun of it. 😄 ~ @robertandrew

I love the concept of HappyPlace. Sorta did one with my last Tree Tuesday post, but I can do another, for sure. Thanks for thinking of me! :)
OH a pool!!!! That would be my happy place but I'm not sure it's big enough for my kayak! LOL
It's 50 feet long. What kind of kayak do you have??? LOL
Either you or someone who valued your post shared this post on Pimp Your Post Thursday in the Steemit Ramble discord. Looking forward to you visiting us again.

Hehe thanks! It was centering text in weird places when I tried to add my current happy place, so I copied the html to a text file and will
shamelessly self-aggrandizecreate another post about it later.yes, more than one happy place I do say so indeed!
;)

Wow, that's so my kind of house.
LOLOLOL!!! Oh, I believe you. (or not.)
Contrary to my personal experience in the southwest corner of the state, there are some wonderful aspects of Virginia. That house is one of them. I know you miss it terribly.
I do, but his family sold it after he died and it was waaaaayyyy out of any price range I could afford.
peeks in shed
So the tail end of that part of the story is that he committed suicide over Passover in 2016. He had been talking about it for years, feeling sorry for himself because of the stroke that was ultimately his own damn fault. I totally sympathize with his frustration over speaking five languages before that and barely being able to communicate simple messages after, but he still had several million dollars in the bank and most of the people I know would probably trade their effective speech for that kind of money. But we all knew he was going to do it sooner or later. His first wife had tried calling him a few times and when he (obviously) didn't answer, she got worried and went over to his house, to which she and I still had keys, found his body, and called the cops, who showed up to find what they claimed was 35 pounds of cannabis in various states of growing, drying, and curing. That was including all the stems, silly cops. She called to let me know what he had done, that she had been questioned for hours by the cops, and the next day was terribly morbid for me when one of my friends from Denver overdosed on heroin in Austin. I had already planned to visit my family's funeral plot at Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, DC where my father and several generations of his ancestors were buried. After that visit, I drove out to Fairfax. The cops had confiscated all of the plants and his four-foot bong, but left several of the curing jars. His first wife said I could take anything I wanted out of the house, and all I wanted were that bong and two of the pictures of him (one with Mikhael Gorbachev and the other with the King of Bahrain) because of the memories associated with them. I settled for his glass pipe instead. I haven't scanned them into computer files but here are pictures I took of the pictures:
And the glass piece:
I am excited to do this community challenge! I loved seeing the photos of your happy place, it looks like a beautiful collection of memories and peace. 💕
This is fucking cool!
Markdown is sloppy cheat code for html. < div class="pull-left" >img_url< /div > and < div class="pull-right" >img_url< /div > without the spaces before/after the <>. And they can be used on the same line of code to set two images next to one another.
Ok remind me to not comment on your posts then 😂
What? I'm sorry I was just trying to be helpful! :(
Ya. Actually now I'm wondering why I wrote that on your comment. Hmm. I think I meant to put it on my reply to @maverickinvictus but was in a hurry. Otherwise I had a brain fart or something. Sorry!
Ok lol. There needs to be a tone of voice thing... I guess i need to use emojis more!😜
I was like this person is one of the most well-spoken people on Steemit. Why was I given that comment! Lolz😸
I was trying to be helpful by giving you what I thought was my 100% upvote. Sorry if my comment wasn't as 'quality' as I would have enjoyed giving. It's hard to do so as your trying to keep up with the posts being presented. This Markdown comment came off a little weird.
Well now I feel like an asshole. Pretty sure I posted it in the wrong place, and I apologize if it sounded snarky.
Only because i know how smart you are. Im like trying to decode the message thinking i messed markdown somewhere!
Man this @dynamicgreentk guy, who does he think he is coming off so brash?😜
Big fatty was so cute, awww. And I dream of a pool and a bath. I have never had a home on my own, still dream of that, but I had happy places 🦋
Thanks for sharingg.
Love your home! That bath looks nice!!
"Mosquitoes get your blood", it must be very sweet, beware of sugar, hahaha, good story, greetings.
Virginia is a beautiful state, but like in Ohio, the mosquitoes are just dreadful! The next place I live better not have any mosquitos swarming the area!
There wasn't a dehumidifier in that shed ever was there? These pics are so nice! I really felt like I was taking a virtual tour of a house for sale. Were these the pictures you or someone else used in a real estate listing? I hate to hear about your late husband's passing but I loved this post as it only brought positive thoughts and images to my mind! I wouldnt mind the mosquitos as they just wanted to partake!
There was. It was some fancy thing he bought that was supposed to control humidity, which we had set at 70% when we were using it for drying and 60% when we were using it for curing.
