Graphics cards are one of the most important hardware in the computers especially for the game fans and hardware geeks. The circuit contains Ram and GPU (graphics processing unit) on it, it provides correct displaying of the graphics on a monitor. For the ones who are dealing with creative works (3d modeling, rendering, video editing, etc...) and gamers needs to have a high budgets for the graphics cards.
I try to maintain my hardware up to date because I used to play games. (with limited bugdet) I always set up my computers by myself, and try to set it up for high performance, I am not so rich so I choose between mid range and high end. The graphics card I owned was one of the best of its time. it was still performing good but getting older.
Last weekend after I watched an exciting football game between Valencia vs Barcelona, I decided to continue enjoying by playing Fifa 18. In the middle of the game I began to see distortions on my screen. So it thought that was the end of my graphics card life which still able to handle recent games. Unfortunately I can not afford 500$ for a new graphics card. While I was checking the prices, also I was checking if I could find a fix for the problem.
And I found a weird way. First I did not believe it but it was worth a try since my warranty was expired. And I did it.
I dissamble the cooler from the board of the graphics card. I put the card in tray of the owen. (prepared stands from the aluminum foil). And I baked my graphics card at 190 C for 8 minutes.
I waited for it to cool down. Then I re-assembled the cooler and install the graphics card to the computer. Boot up was normal, actually better everything was better than before . I tested with 3d benchmark softwares for long hours.
Sound bullshit but it was working as it used to work.
The trick was fixing invisible the micro solder breakdowns on bus by heat. (like the heat gun the repairmen use)
Now it was time to run to glory in Fifa 18 with my baked graphics card.
