Today mobile AMD Ryzen CPUs from Zen 1 architecture are doing a great job in laptops.
Lenovo Ideapad 330-15ARR for about 2100 PLN would cost as much as its components taken from store shelves (in a large store, without sales and promotions, in a rather not-recommended configuration, but still).

However, 'Team Red' still has no start in gaming or high-end laptops.
But it will change very soon because today a new architecture of Zen 2 for processors and RDNA for graphics cards was announced. Everything is in a 7-nanometer process (which means huge energy savings).
Desktop-grade Ryzen 7 3700X which has 8 cores and 16 threads, 4.4 GHz turbo and Thermal Design Power of only 65W (while in some gaming laptops there are Intel processors with Thermal Design Power of 95W, although measured in a slightly different way).
As for the graphics cards, no specific details of the power consumption are given, but it is certain that there will be some new GPUs that are significantly more powerful than the RX 550 but consume the same amount or even less power.
If AMD gives us gaming laptops for the price of gaming desktops, you can actually start wondering if desktop computers will disappear sooner than we initially thought...
