HashKings: Oh, Sweet Africa!

I wasn’t going to put much more external funds into P2E gaming at the moment. But…

I also said earlier to myself that if I saw African Land Plots dip back down to 69 HIVE, that I’d get one and expand my growing operations into Africa.

I’ve been eyeing prime African farming plots basically since I’ve started playing HashKings. I can only dream of Asia, and Jamaica still seems too far out of my range, but Africa, oh sweet Africa. That’s my top choice that I can afford. Then prices spiked and African land was listed for 94 HIVE.

I held off. But recently I saw African land plots listed for 69.5 HIVE, so I felt like I had to pull the purchase trigger.

So I’ve gotten a small foothold in Africa and I need to set things up. In the long term, the seeds that I’ll grow here will require me to get a hold of ever more Water Towers to become self-sustained in regards to HKWATER. That’ll be a problem for the future.

So, then. African Seeds. The best seed that I can grow here is the Swazi Gold variant. It produces 4600 to 4900 BUDS, and has a Sprouting Time of only 3 days. This is means that I can get in two harvests per plot per week.

But these seeds are quite expensive, at least to me. So I’ll start off by trying to get my hands on the cheapest African Seed, the Malawi. This Seed produces 2175 to 2525 BUDS and has a sprouting time of 4 days. This is a small improvement compared to the top tier Afghani Seed, to its progress!

My next challenge will be to gather at least 55 MOTA and stake it in the African rewards pool. Around this amount is the minimum requirement to be rewarded with one free Seed from the weekly Seed Drop.

To get started I picked up 2 Malawi Seeds at the market, at 1168 BUDS each. They cost around half of what they’ll produce so that’s a hefty profit. Once I get completely water self reliant, that’ll be pure profit with no water costs.

Now my small foothold in Africa is established. The earth has been tilled, the seed has been planted, and gotten water.
