The Ghost Attic has selected America’s Top 5 Haunted Hotels of 2017. Now these aren’t just hotels with the most paranormal activity, but instead this years decision has been based on a mix of different elements.

The decisions have been picked from: the most infamous hotels in history, different and chilling witness stories, proof of recorded ghost sightings, unique types of hotel accommodation and lets not forget, other that the scary stuff that keeps you up all night, these hotels are actually cozy and relaxing to stay at. Thats if you can get to sleep… Please see below our spooky finalists for 2017!

LOGAN INN HOTEL – NEW HOPE, PA

We are not sure if many paranormal enthusiasts have heard of this inn. But now you have as it has made our Top 5 list for big reasons!

This hotel has been around since the Revolutionary War and is on the National Register of historic places. The building has many vintage elements through the interior and surrounding the exterior that take you back into that era for time.

The paranormal stories and recorded case are phenomenal! At the Logan Inn, there are reports of no fewer than eight ghosts (whats with every place having eight spirits?). One of the most active rooms in the Inn is Room No. 6. Women often report seeing a man stood behind them through the mirror in the bathroom. Another report is of something pressing on your chest throughout the night as you sleep. Upon wakening after this experience, people have witnessed a white misty shape moving in the room.

A picture of a couple in the lobby of The Logan Inn is said to give off the scent of Lavender. People say this is the scent of the woman in the photo which can also be smelt throughout the hotel in other areas. Wherever the scent is, people say that is where the lady is standing. So if you do smell the scent I suggest getting out that camera and snapping some photos!

1886 CRESCENT HOTEL – EUREKA SPRINGS, AR

This old historic hotel still stands tall to this day. Not only is it cozy and grand, but from the stories I have heard, it is very spooky!

The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Up with The Stanley Hotel, this building has been called “America’s Most Haunted Hotel”, and is said to be haunted by at least eight spirits. This includes a young woman, a nurse, a man in a hat and tails, a doctor, a stonemason, a bearded gentleman, a cancer victim, a small boy and Norman G Baker himself, who was the owner of the once was hospital. Basically a lot of chance you will see or feel something on your stay at the 1886 Crescent Hotel.

THE ANDREW JACKSON HOTEL – NEW ORLEANS, LA

This hotel really did impress us but not only the ghost stories and evidence, but just how historic and cozy it is. Other than the stuff that spooks the shit out of you, we really do care about your sleep and comfort.

Located in the heart of the historic French Quarter, The Andrew Jackson Hotel is one of the finest examples of French Quarter style and elegance.

This unique building is said to be haunted by five boys who were perished here in 1778 in a fire. Visitors have said that they hear them playing around the courtyard and also have been seen looking at the TV’s in some of the rooms. Bloody creepy! Other guests have witnessed the apparition that fits the description of General Andrew Jackson himself. This is just some of the evidence witnesses has experienced. Go there and check it out yourself. You will probably have a story of your own soon. Make sure you take some ghost hunting equipment if you have some.

THE COPPER QUEEN HOTEL – BISBEE, AZ

At No.2 is another haunted hotel favourite! This unique hotel sits 20 miles from the infamous town of ’Tombstone’ in the Arizona desert. The 4 story, brick, Victorian/Italian Villa style Copper Queen Hotel is described as being “One of the Last Remaining Historical Gems of the Southwest.”

Look there is probably to many stories and experiences to talk about at this extremely haunted location, but we will give you a taste of what you could be in for. The entity of the still alluring, flirtatious Miss Julia Lowell mostly haunts the west side of the building on the third floor and rooms, especially Room 315, though she occasionally is seen in other spots in the hotel. She apparently only seen by men, so men, be prepared for an experience!

A entity of a young boy that likes to play on the third floor and the dining room makes an appearance to visitors on occasions. Also the entity of an older, dignified “gentleman” has chosen to spend his after-life in a place he loved during his life time. This is just a taste of what you expect to see or hear at this hotel. Just to add, from what we have heard and researched, its an epic place to stay with some cool surrounding haunted areas to explore also.

THE STANLEY HOTEL – ESTES PARK, CO

It wouldn’t be a Top 5 without The Stanley Hotel! It has won this years top place because of its notorious reputation and it never seems to disappoint guests seeking a paranormal situation. For those who haven’t heard of this hotel, where have you been? The Stanley Hotel is a 140-room Colonial Revival hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. Approximately five miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley offers panoramic views of lake Estes, the Rockies and especially Long’s Peak.

There has been many ghost investigation teams visiting this place including The Atlantic Paranormal Society and also Ghost Adventures from the Syfy channel. Both these renowned investigation teams documented paranormal activity in the ballroom. They also claimed to experience other paranormal occurrences, such as seeing people in hallways then hiding, and hearing children running and playing on the floor above them.

The biggest alleged occurrence was that during changing of the film in the camera, a table jumped two feet in the air. The whole place is bleeding paranormal activity, but if you can, try and book Room 217. This is the room that hosted the horror novelist Stephen King, serving as inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in his 1977 bestseller ‘The Shining’.

Just before you book your creepy getaway here is one last fact!

Jim Carey stayed in the most haunted room of all – 217, at the Stanley Hotel while filming ‘Dumb and Dumber’. He only lasted 3 hours in the room before running out and leaving the hotel entirely. He won’t tell anyone what happened there to this day.
