In Africa as a whole, we are bless with different varieties of consumable agricultural product which serves as food to man. We have the likes of beans, cassava, rice, millet, and other fruits such as mango, cashew, etc which are very rich nutrients.

Maize which belongs to the family of carbohydrates, an energy giving food. I know many people never see anything of important in maize eating as regards to the fact that it belongs to the carbohydrate family. Aside been an energy givingfood,it has a lot of extra benefits that attached to eating corn/maize.

BENEFITS OF EATING MAIZE

Fiber:-it is a source of fiber that helps human body to reduce Chelesterol,making digestion more effective. Corn eating prevents constipation.

Cancer prevents:-Cancer is one of the the major epidemic face by the human race. Do you know that eating of maize can help prevent that too at the early stage. Corn contains carotenoid antioxidants that help to prevent cancer. It also help the eyes and skin from oxidation damage.

Source of energy :-As we all know and have been thought in school, carbohydrate is an energy giving food. Corn contain a high amounts of carbohydrates which provides the body with the required energy for the normal daily usage. It is a complex carbohydrate that takes time to get digestion.

We are in the season of maize, eat at least one maize today and keep your body in good condition.
