These elements make the liver support many of the health benefits of the body such as eye health, skin, immune system strengthening, red blood cell production.
Liver and cholesterol:
The main drawback when taking the liver is the amount of cholesterol inside. A slice of bovine liver contains 90% cholesterol. Cholesterol is vital for the creation of cells and some hormones but the body naturally produces all it needs. Thus, an excessive intake of cholesterol in the diet increases the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Vitamin B12:
The body needs vitamin B12 to form red blood cells, amino acid conversion of amocysteine in the protein, which builds amino acids and vitamin B12 is necessary for the health of the body. At 3 ounces of liver, the body supplies 72 micrograms of vitamin B12 and is therefore a healthy alternative.
Eye health:
Calf liver contains approximately 60,000 IU of vitamin A within 3 oz. Consuming adequate amounts of vitamin A supports vision but also plays a role in the formation of red blood cells and gene regulation. When not enough vitamin A weakens the immune system because this vitamin is necessary for normal formation of white blood cells.
Protein:
3 ounces of bovine liver contains 187 calories and about 7.5 grams of fat, while chicken liver contains 142 calories and 5.5 grams of fat. Although the total fat content of the liver.
Copper supports metabolism:
Copper is a major component to support various functions. The body relies on coproinsimates to produce energy and iron metabolism, collagen formation, and maintain nerve health. According to the Linus-Pauling Institute, some enzymes rely on copper to form antioxidants that protect cells from damage from free radicals. You need only 0.9 mg of copper in your daily diet. If you eat 3 ounces of beef liver or veal you will get 12 criminals from the copper, but chicken liver contains only 1 mg.
