Home Medicine Committee
Based on the decision of the Saudi Health Council at its forty-second meeting held on 21/1/1430. Including the adoption of home health care as a health strategy and the formation of a national committee representing all health sectors to activate the services of home health care was issued by the Minister of Health Chairman of the Council No. 36647/84 on 16/5/1430 e. To form a national committee for home health care and then re-formed the Committee by resolution No. 65527/84/1 dated 1/1/1433 e named the Committee of Home Medicine.
Objectives of the Committee
To find specialized medical teams to visit and care patients in their places of residence who do not require their health to stay in hospitals to achieve psychological and family stability.
Standardize quality standards and work on the rehabilitation of employees and develop a plan to train trainers of the program in various health facilities.
To coordinate the care of patients in the hospital and take care of them outside the hospital
The importance of selecting and training qualified home health care medical teams whenever possible to ensure that they continue to serve their country.
Preparation of awareness project for the program (for employees and members of society).
Stimulating the family to participate in the health care process, and providing the necessary information.
Discuss the role of charities and civil society organizations in supporting the program as well as the role of some government agencies in the activities of the program.
Study of the development of a database on home health care.
Studying the licensing of the private sector to provide home health care services.
The possibility of adopting the project of introducing the home health care program in the curriculum of medical colleges and applied medical sciences, as well as the possibility of adopting a diploma program in this specialization for doctors and nurses.
