RE: Is salt intake bad for human health? And is there a difference between the chemically refined table salt and natural salt? [English/German]

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Last year I made a sequence of stupid decisions concerning the salt.

I always take several small packs of NaCl (those from restaurants) on my bike rides, but that time I forgot to "steal" them from the cafeteria.

I hit the road to make my personal best on 30 km ride. And I smashed it, felt great and decided to continue like a madman and do my personal best on 80 km. (Stupidity No.1)

After about 60 km, and a lot of headwind I made a quick stop at the gas station and bought one of those stupid energy drinks (Stupidity No.2). And it was some brand I never tried before (Stupidity No.3).

After 70 km I started to experience the cramps. On 72 km, I couldn't move my legs. And on 75 km I simply dropped on the tarmac with no hope, for the second time.
My balance of salts was destroyed, only 5 km before the house, and I couldn't even stand

Some random guy picked me up with the Van and brought home.
After a tablespoon of NaCl, I was brand new after 15 min.

Always have some NaCl on your activities!
