A healthy life is a wealthy life
It's been a while since I posted on steemit, I have been going to the morbid anatomy to perform certain practicals on bodies. Like I always say, a surgeon is an artist, he does everything on the skin with care. Hope you remembered me saying I'm not a medical doctor yet, I'm a medical student.
It is better to have a healthy life with $100 in your bank account than having a million dollar account and a billion dollar investment without good health.
When last did you visit the hospital, when last did you go for a checkup. In most part of the world, most especially third world countries, people do not even know medical practitioners exist until they are admitted into the Intensive care unit (ICU) or they get caught up by one illness or the other.
Before now I used to visit a ph once in six months, but soon I realised that visiting a specialist should be as often as paying your tax monthly.
MEDICAL TEST AND CHECKUPS YOU SHOULD DO REGULARLY
As a medical student, I advise that certain tests and checkups should be done on a regular basis. I do mine, I must confess but do you do yours?
Do you go for:
PAP test (females): to detect cervical cancer
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING
CHOLESTEROL LEVEL
TESTES CHECKUP
SKIN CHECKUP
DENTAL CHECKUP I do not miss this because I have issues with my teeth
COLORECTAL CANCER
BREAST CANCER CHECKUP (females)
SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTION/ DISEASE (STD//STI)
BMI CHECKUP
EYE CHECKUP
EAR CHECKUP*
DIABETES CHECKUP
THYROID CHECKUP
BLOOD SUGAR (GLUCOSE) TEST
Doing these tests on a regular basis is a guarantee for a good and healthy life.

Thanks for this reminder. It's something very important. Watching what we feed our body and also regular checkups are more important than running after other things to the detriment of our health.
Well done Doc! 👍
The thing is, doing regular checkups creates the risk of "false-positives", meaning that people that are actually OK test as having some kind of disease.
As you can imagine, this would burden healthy people with thinking they are sick, while they would otherwise lead normal lives with stable stress levels. Just something to consider maybe.
Also, it goes pretty far to say that you can guarantee a long and healthy life by doing regular checkups, don't you think?
