Next time you reach for a snack ask yourself...All things being equal, can what I'm about to consume kill me?
I mean, if you weren't the most evolved creature on Earth, walking on two legs and seeing with three eyes...could this life form stop me from consuming it and converting it into my own life essence?
If you bit in to a piece of garlic the size of your head you would most certainly regret and probably never taste again. That's one hell of a deterrent.
If you chomped on let's say a chuck of tumeric, wasabi, or ginger the length of your arm surely you would be without sight, taste, and most certainly smell for rest of your consuming days.
And yet, they are amongst the healthiest foods you can consume! What's the deal?
HORMESIS:
"Hormesis is the term that describes any process in a cell or organism that exhibits a biphasic response to exposure to increasing amounts of a substance or condition.[1] Within the hormetic zone there is generally a favorable biological responses to low exposures to toxins and other stressors. Hormesis comes from Greek hórmēsis "rapid motion, eagerness", itself from ancient Greek hormáein "to set in motion, impel, urge on"."
Or in simple terms...
Damn, pictures are so very useful.
I'd bet that picture is worth a 1,000 odd words or so.
Anyway, that's it enough of the brain poison for now. Hormesis also works via psychic/physical/mental stress by the way.
No pain no gain!
...takes a shot of whisky just to be safe
That's actually a good point to address in future posts.
Alcohol in small doses is quite good for focus and stress reduction. I've heard whiskey acts as an upper rather than a downer as well.
I'll have to do more research to confirm that.
