Today I will write you something about beer, alcoholic drink which has many of its advantages but only if it is consumed in moderate amounts.

Beer is considered the oldest alcoholic drink in the world. It consist of water, hops, beer yeast and barley (they can be also made from wheat). Beer is considered to be a weak alcoholic drink and therefore it is consumed in large quantities. Hop gives to beer a pleasent smell and strong taste and beer yeast converts sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Beer is also a very potent drink so some people call it „liquid food“.

Archaeologists have found that beer was produced 9 thousands years ago in Babylon. They had 16 types of beer and the main ingredient was wheat. The beer was transferred from Babylon to Egypt, Greece and other ancient countries. At that time, beer was produced without hops so the drink was sour. The hop started to be used in Russia for the first time in 13th century and that was a big revolution in beer making.

The beer should be at different temperatures, it all depends on the type of the beer. The minimum temperatures can be about zero degrees Celsius and some even serve at 15 degrees Celsius. Differences in temperatures are essential because beer has a certain flavor at a certain temperature.

Beer is not strong alcoholic drink. The weakest beers have about 2 percent of alcohol and the strongets can have up to 15 or 20 percent of alcohol.

  • Germany – 110 liters
  • Austria – 108 liters

  • Poland – 100 liters

My country Croatia is at nine place with 82 liters per capita, China has only 4 liters per capita (but overall, the Chinese drink the most – about 54 bilion of liters in year).

Understand, beer can improve your health but only if you consumed that in small quantities. Doctors believe that the normal amount of beer for man is 6 deciliters per day and for women it is 3 deciliters per day.

  • Cholesterol – the beer decreases the level of bad cholesterol and that cholesterol can lead to heart attack. This is actually bad blood in the body which every human has but in different amounts.
  • Beer increases the intake of B vitamins. B vitamins create energy in humans, they help health skin, protectors of the heart and blood veins, serve for a better memory and they reduce painful menstruation in women.

  • Bones are firmer – Silicum increases bone strenght and with drinking beer we can carry silicium into our body. Also, barley beer prevents osteoporosis.

  • It reduces the chance of heart attack – According to doctors, people who consume beer have 50 percent less chance to get heart attack.
  • Beer prevents the formation of blood clots – just like a wrote before, beer decreases bad cholesterol and our blood is healthier.
  • Beer improves memory – people who drink beer have less chace of Alzheimer disease.
  • With beer we don't have stress – it has been proven that beer works relaxing on the body. So after a busy day or a hard day, you can freely drink beer.

  • And last thing, beer acts on the beauty of skin and hair. Beer keeps vitamins that works on skin and hair. Some experts point out that is exceptionally healthy to pour two or three glasses of beer into the bath and the hop will protect the skin from the disease.
