Yes, I agree that the injecting anything into a baby should only be done if there is a serious situation where the child is likely to be harmed if you don't give them a life-saving injection. Many European countries use the Oral Vitamin K instead, so would think that they would at least go that route in North America.
To do this routinely to all babies, regardless of their risk factor is terrible. It should not be a one-size-fits all scenario.
