Wrecked but ok I guess

We moved a while ago into another apartment. Our small dream was to have our own backyard for the doges. They are loving it :) We are paying higher rent on this than in the previous one (it was a student apartment so no wonder). However, our gasoline consumption will be decreased by a lot since our commutes just got halved and we no longer need to drive the doges to dog park to release their energy. So that's good, especially with today's gas prices. There's a market also much closer, so now there's much less resistance to get groceries without a car. My workplace is closer now too, which cuts my biking by half. Convenient.

I've been a bit of a wreck lately. Well not just a bit, the most wrecked I've been. The majority of the wreckedness has been triggered by the stress on my entrepreneur journey. I'm running low on motivation, my attention ability is down the drain, and I'm almost always tired and often anxious, because I don't have enough clients, thus don't get enough income. The business turns profit, just not enough to live off. I know what I would need to do to get more clients. The motivation and focus is why I don't do enough of it.

I've had to get some help for these health issues, so I started psychotherapy. If I was religious, I would say "God bless Finland", because I got 20 appointments of psychotherapy for free by the city/government, so that's good. Turns out I might also have sleep apnea, which could explain, or at least worsen many of my symptoms which are align with depression. @rrusina has noted that I snore really loud and sometimes breath irregularly. Have a doctors appointment at the end of the month about it.

Strangely enough, I haven't given a flying fuck about covid nor am I really worried about our neighbor being at war with Ukraine. Sure, they could come at Finland, but I think we'll be the last neighbor for Russia to take on, because we were the only country that could defend against Soviet Union in WW2.

But yeah, I guess I'm doing better, because I got this one out. It's usually when I'm quiet that there's a downturn with having no energy for anything excess.

Plan is to find more massage work from a bigger company on the side of my own clients. I'm tired of trying to get enough volume for my own, so I think I'll let it grow organically on the side. Now I'd just rather get some guaranteed income, because I'm getting sick of stress that the unpredictable client inflow creates.

Sort:

Not having a stable income is absolute hell when you feel a bit down. You know that if you relax a bit things get worse, but at the same time it's hard to really focus and push forward to escape it, especially when you're in a period of growth where things aren't certain either way.

It's very much a normal reaction to have. I feel it a lot sometimes, considering I rely on about 4 different incomes and each of which require some energy and attention on a day-to-day basis.

I can say this though: when things feel like they're too much, see if there's an area of growth you can pursue that removes some of that weight from you. That might be finding others that would to join in a joint venture that could handle some of the extra weight and perhaps pursue additional clients, for example.

Have a look for those in the same field and reach out, it may result in additional ideas that you hadn't even considered yet.

Good luck though.

Man, sounds like a lot of jiggling.

I am in a business group with different kinds of entrepreneurs to create referrals for each others. It has been ok and has brought sales more than what joining the group cost. Just not enough. Other than that, I would have to ask help from the gym owner where my space is.

Anyways I'm going to try find part time massage work from a company that can guarantee work and clients. Too much stress otherwise.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Best wishes for it all sorting out.

Thanks. It'll sort out. I know what to do, just need to execute it.

Just keep going if you really want to make your business work. Take care of yourself too, take breaks if have to and can afford to. There's light at the end of the tunnel am sure

Gonna find some part-time work from another company that gets the customers. Need some guaranteed income, otherwise the stress will be too much.
