I am graduated already from asking financial assistance form government officials for many years already. Part of the reason is that I cannot travel anymore because of my disability but when I was still able to walk I am submitting here and there and even traveled on my own for far provinces and in the capital city Manila just to ask for an assistance that is really not that big amount but helps a little somewhat.
I also had an experience where the value of the medicine that I was trying to get had gotten equal to the expenses that I paid in traveling to and from the city, it was frustrating and also very hard to submit papers in a red taped system. So after that experience I never returned to and also never voted for that politician.
But given the chance to have my former strength which is unlikely I would still request for a financial assistance because of the expenses for my dialysis treatment especially for my hyperparathyroidism which I have to take otherwise I will just get so weak and pelted with strange and terrible pains.
But there is no trouble in getting a financial assistance form our Town Mayor, they have a budget for people like me, heck some people even ask for assistance to pay for their electricity bill, unbelievable but the mayor is forced to give them money or he will not get their votes come voting day.
I think that the mayor will give my mother about 38 dollars, that is about the amount thatthey always assist for needy people so if it will be more than that it is a good news and we can use the money for paying my dialysis out of pocket God-willing in November and December when my health insurance gets all used up.
