In past posts I've documented Luke's challenges with his special needs and hospital visits associated with lung complications. You can scroll back through my history to see those if you like. I'm sitting next to Luke at the moment with only my phone to do updates on.
This time around it looks like we might have caught the infection early before it became full blown pneumonia. There is a lot of junk in the lungs. The O2 stats are low, heart rate was high and there were plenty of indications in the bloodwork that pointed to infection.
I'm glad Luke is on IV drip fluids because he has little desire to eat or drink. We are working constantly at home to make sure he gets all the calories and fluids he needs.
At Home
Life on the farm never stops! The horses still need fed, groomed and loved. Goats, chickens and ducks never stop begging for attention and food. Dogs need let out and cuddled. Actually right now we have babies working hard to enter the world like these twin duckies!
Thank you to those of you who have already reached out with thoughts, prayers and well wishes for Luke!
Prayers for everyone @daddykirbs! Tweeted to update folks..
Recover soon Luke, may God bless you and protect you.
I send you kisses
My heart jumped at your photo 😢 Kinda hard to do with my own heart problems and the meds to prevent that.
I hope Luke is having an easier time communicating when he isn’t feeling well.
I have been having lung troubles myself.
I'm so sorry @alaskahippie . It is no fun having these medical challenges. Luke is hanging in there like a trooper. I do hope you find a routine that gives you some relief.
Like wise, hope Luke gets well soon
Apparently they take security seriously here! We were assured that a shower would not set off Luke's ankle alarm... yeah well tell those two security guards that interrupted Luke's personal grooming 😉
Thought and prayers for Lukes speedy recovery. Poor lad, It must be really hard on him and the family too. Hopefully, he will be home soon.
Besides French fries & green ice cream, what else puts a smile on Luke’s face?!
Soda! Lol
Well, a way to a man’s heart is thru his stomach! 😂
But I wanted to send a care package - I’m afraid the ice cream would be melted, the soda have exploded, and the french fries no longer crispy enough! 😂 Nor require a shopping spree.
Lol. I see your challenge. Ok, so let me be actually helpful... puzzles (larger pieces, 100 piece puzzles), gift cards to Orange Leaf, Uno card game,... simple things like that. Thank you.
I'm sorry to hear about the infection and lungs problems.
Hope he recovers from all that and be back at home quickly.
Friend, strength and faith. Many of the Venezuelans that we follow because of your noble heart, we are praying for him to recover from that infection, and he can be at home with his whole family.
this is a sweet father/son photo, even though its not the best of circumstances it shows how much love and care there is between the two of you.
