Nebula Genetics: Another project being built on the Enigma protocol
Nebula Genetics is a DNA sequencing project being built on Enigma. They offer this whitepaper. This will allow personalized medicine, specifically by reducing the cost of personal genome sequencing by decentralizing the process. The Enigma Protocol is able to do this because you require the capability to compute encrypted data and Enigma allows that speficially. Enigma also has a data market place where people can perhaps sell their genetic data although I do not know exactly how this data will be collected. This may be of great interest to biohackers.
Great post. I am currently in the process of getting my classes and prep together for taking the MCAT. So I love looking for posts on science biology and chemistry on here. I must say this was a very interesting post I checked out The link as well. I actually was not really fond of the new information. I think it is miraculous what science has been coming up with. That being said I hope all of this works out in our favors.
“Sell their genetic data”
Sounds like something the hackers would used against people . I’m not sure if this can be seen as a good factor
See this video:
There is a risk any time any data is uploaded to a computer that there could be a backdoor. At the same time if you want to receive the benefits of knowing your own genetics then you have to get your genes sequenced and analyzed at some point. Additionally, hackers can just steal your genetics if you use public rest rooms or anything else if the sensors become accurate enough so I see this more as do you want your data stolen by hackers or do you want to get paid for the beneficial uses?
Hackers do not care about laws, or privacy, and as soon as technology enables them to violate us in every kind of way we should expect them to do it. The people who want to do legit research to help people do care about the law, and privacy, but cannot access our data in a secure manner. In addition, if we go to 23&Me or similar then they get control of our data not us, and they monetize our genetics not us, so the main advantage we get from this is control of our data and ability to monetize it ourselves.
Decentralization has become a popular management strategy in many European health care systems. The logic of decentralization is an intrinsically powerful idea: that smaller organizations, properly structured and steered, are inherently more agile and accountable than larger organizations.
@journeyoflife risk is everywhere in your routine task and normal day life hacker would used your sensitive data anytime by simply control any centralized server.
Thank you @dana-edwards for this adorable sharing :)
Enigma does looks interesting.
I started following it because of you mentioned it few times.
Looks like it is starting to move again, on the news you mentioned (plotted against Bitcoin)
Wow , this sounds very interesting @dana-edwards !👍✌😀
I can only read and see no comments
loving the Enigma updates, cheers!
Sadly, medical privacy will be a joke in the future...
