Green Tea-health benefits and caffeine levels?

Green Tea,
has many health benefits, and is becoming more popular as an alternative to regular tea or coffee. Green tea comes from a species of Camellia, specifically it is called Camellia sinensis, an ever green shrub resistant to frost.

It is high in antioxidants, and has been claimed to be the healthiest beverage of them all.

Green tea stimulates fat loss and increases brain function too. It has been shown to decrease the risk of cancer, and contains a large amount of nutrients.

Green tea also decreases the risk of heart disease, and bowel and stomach cancers as well.

I drink it a few times a week and often with an evening meal, i have noticed it is stimulating and wondered if it contained caffeine.

I researched the caffeine amounts on Google and found out that while Green Tea does contain caffeine, it is around 25% of what is found in Coffee and 40% of the amount of caffeine in black tea. Matcha Green tea can contain higher levels.

Hello friend, I really liked your post. Wonderful pictures by the way. However a I got a question, first I didn't there are cafeine in tea, I though it was theine ? But maybe it is the same thing ?

I knew it had caffeine in but not that much. I think the benefit outweigh its caffeine for me though.

Topical post for me @daydreams4rock add I've recently given up caffeine and feel much better for it. I used to drink lots of green tea add well as other tea and coffee. Now I've been drinking decaf and Rooibos which is a red caffeine free tea from Africa. I recommend it. It's relaxing and very flavoursome. ..

sounds great - i do love green tea and black tea too -- the levels of caffeine in coffee are too much, but i find tea acceptable
