DANGERS OF EATING JUNK FOODS.
The word “Junk” means old and used goods that have little value and those you do not want any more according to the English dictionary. The definition serves enough justice to our so called favorite and delicious foods.
These may include samosas, pizza, rolls, French fries, burgers and so many others. These are almost everywhere all over the country for example by the road side, school canteens, restaurants and malls. The consequences of eating junk food is terrible irrespective of whether you have them once in a while, twice in a week or every day.
Dr. Shraddha Rupavate a explains how junk plays a crucial role in deteriorating people’s health as follows.
They cause fatigue: Although they are satisfying and makes one full, they lack the necessary nutrients like proteins and carbohydrates to keep bodies energized and healthy. Chronically fatigue comes as a result of eating junk foods every time one is hungry. This is because energy levels are lowered and makes it difficult to perform daily tasks.
It impairs digestion: addicts of fatty junk food are likely to have digestive problems like gastro esophageal reflux diseases and irritable bowel syndrome because the junk food is deep fried so the oil from junk foods gets deposited in the stomach causing acidity. They also cause irritation of the stomach lining because they are too spicy and lack fibre which is important for digestion.
Affects the brain function: According to a journal, brain behavior and immunity shows that one week of eating junk food is enough to trigger memory impairment. Resent research suggests that Trans fats from junk food tends to replace healthy fats in the brains and interferes with its normal signaling.
It increases the risk of heart diseases. This is because they increase cholesterol and triglyceride levels which are major risk factors for development of heart diseases. They also accumulate over time in the body and makes you obese. The more weight you put on the higher your risk of suffering from heart attack.
Damages the liver: high risks of Trans fats also cause deposition of fats in the liver which can cause liver dysfunction.
It may cause type 2 diabetes. When you eat a healthy diet your body gets a steady supply of glucose which helps to maintain inulin sensitivity. But when you eat only junk, the excessive stress exerted on your metabolism can affect the ability of your body to use insulin properly.
It increases the risk of cancer. It is because consuming too much of fat foods that are high in sugar and fat can increase your chances of developing colorectal cancer.
It increases kidney diseases. This is because most junk especially fries contain high amounts of finely processed salt which increases sodium hence increasing blood pressure and affects the kidney function.
