Trying To Tackle Your Own Anger

Anger is an emotion that has gotten many people into a variety of regrettable circumstances in their lives, saying things they might wish that they hadn't, or having done things that at the time might not have been the best decision. Anger clouds our judgment and it can contribute to a great deal of pain and suffering, it can get us into fights, destroy relationships, and in general act like a complete and utter fool.

One thing that really contributes to the anger of many, including myself, is impatience. Letting impatience go unchecked can easily fuel the bad habit of anger because it lets us operate under the impression that we need/deserve to have our way all the time.

Learning how to work on patience is a quick and easy way to try and get a little more in control of any negative and angry emotions.

Anger is rooted in selfishness and in pride, thinking that we aren't being treated right or receiving what we should be receiving. For those who are able to control their anger, they sure will save themselves a lot of headaches and a lot of stress in their lives. And for the rest of us, struggling and often losing control to the green monster in us all, anger is left with the opportunity to greatly diminish our life; unless we address it.


Plenty of research has been conducted on this topic and there is a lot of data out there to suggest that getting angry isn't the healthiest thing for your life. Anger is hostile and can bring with it stress, increasing breathing and heart rate, and studies have shown that more angry/hostile individuals are more likely to get heart disease.

It's also been known to contribute to headaches, depression, insomnia, and more.

There truly is a benefit that can be had in the way of elevating your standard of living, by being able to maintain more peace and enjoyment; if you can learn to control your anger and opt for a more relaxing and laid-back demeanor.

You can't be good to other people and try to be a happy and enjoy your life, if you are too busy being angry all of the time. Do you want to be remembered as the guy that was always upset about something? Or as the guy who always had a smile on his face and just looked for the positive and something to be thankful for? Personally, I prefer the latter.

Is Anger Always Bad?

Research has shown that it isn't all bad, there is some good to be mentioned. Some of those upsides to getting angry which have been cited are that it's a motivational force, might provide self-insight, and might be able to be used as a negotiation strategy.

But, is it good to live your life getting angry at everyone and every thing all day, every day? Probably not. Anger can greatly diminish and take away from our life, especially by wasting time most of all.

this is true @doitvoluntarily. Doing things with anger messes everything in life, I just wish we can introspect after reading this post

Learning to disengage the sympathetic nervous system helps take the detriment out of the anger, and allow redirection of that energy.

I have tried all manner of things to reduce detrimental states of consciousness, and the things that have helped the most are, remember to breathe, correct diet, and reduce toxins by whatever healthful means possible.

Just let your anger flow free I say... a little anger is good... a lot is better ;)
