I'm attempting to start a question and answer nutrition and medical science service here on steemit. To be a natural doctor and health science expert. I liked this, a quality post. In addition to the elevation in ketones, elevation in pyruvate would also protect against hypoxic injury. I've not heard of ketones being utilized directly for energy production in the brain before. Do you suppose an oversimplified version of this reaction would be that pyruvate carboxylase utilizes carbon dioxide and pyruvate to recycle oxaloacetate and nad+ and that lactate and pyruvate work together for production of atp? That beta hydroxy butyrate can be seen as a reservoir of reducing equivelants for regeneration of lactate while acetoacetate can be seen as a resevoir for regenerating pyruvate.
