It's not a question of deadly or not but the life expectancy has increased dramatically over the years,,, severe cases of measles could be taken care of more easily nowadays, nevertheless you got a point :)

Maybe vaccines are a part of the reasons why life expectancy has improved ;)?

Or perhaps running water, flushing toilets, better food preparation, industrialization in the civilized world....

I wrote part of the reasons on purpose - the things you listed are some of the other parts obviously ;)
